Disney Announcements

1)  Everyone should meet at the school at 5 am for our 6:00 departure time.  I will meet with the Chaperones at 5:05 in the Cafeteria to go over any last minute details.  Students will go in there at 5:20 to meet up with the chaperones and exchange phone numbers.  Remember that you will not need to stay with your chaperones all the time in the park, but you will need to find them whenever we get ready to leave a park.  Having phone number will help with this.

2)  We will pack our uniforms, instruments and luggage on the bus BEFORE we get on the buses.  Remember that you will not be able to get to your luggage until we get to Disney World, so take anything you might need with you in your Carry on bag.

3)  Pack for the following weather: mid-80s to 90, mostly cloudy everyday with a few chances of rain, 60 - 70% humidity.

4)  They usually keep the buses chilly, so bring something warm for the bus.  Pillows are good too.  Snacks are fine as long as you clean up your seat and throw everything in the trash.  Drinks need to have a top.

5)  I recommend that you carry a copy of the itinerary with you or take a picture of it so that you have it available at all times.

6)  Don't forget your long black socks, gloves, band shoes.

Announcements 3/20/16

1)  A great job by the Concert and Jazz Bands this past week!  Straight 1's at Concert Festival - awesome!  And the Jazz Band did a great job performing at the Miss Harmony pageant.  It's so fulfilling for a director to see band students performing in a "gig" type setting and being so professional the entire time.  It shows such promise for the future of musicians in the area!

2)  Jazz Band will meet Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 as we improve the songs for our concert in April.

3)  After School Rehearsal on Tuesday from 3:30 to 5:30 for students going on the Disney trip.  Be prepared to put on your uniform so that I know for certain that everyone is ready for the trip.

4)  I will be handing out the Disney T-shirts for those that have paid so far.  If you have not paid yet, get your $10 turned in ASAP.

Reminders

1)  Pictures of the Concert Band will be available for purchase tomorrow (Friday) at Concert Festival.  Liberty will be taking the pictures and it will be an 8 x 10 photo.  I wasn't told who to make checks out to.

2)  I need a parent to pull the Band Equipment trailer tomorrow.  The parents who usually pull it are unable to do it.  Please let me know if you are willing/able.

3)  We need a few more volunteers to help at the Miss Harmony pageant on Saturday.  If you can help out between 9 am and 4 pm, or even just part of that time, please come out.  We need this to be a successful event!

4)  Remember to bring the drinks assigned to each section so that we can have them to sell at the Miss Harmony pageant.

Butter Braid Delivery

The Butter Braids will be delivered tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2 pm to the Band Room.  I will be there after school for a while if you can't get them home immediately after school. Try to get these to the customers or to your freezer within 5 hours to keep them from thawing out.
