Announcements 9/29/19

1) The Huntingdon contest is this Saturday. A full itinerary will be posted on Monday, but report time will once again be 8 am at the practice field.

2)  We have a home game this Friday vs. Westview.  Report time will be 6 pm.

3)  Please wash your uniforms.  They are machine washable.  Simply use cold water and non-bleach detergent and then let the uniform air dry.  The only exception is the gauntlets which need to be hand washed due to the velcro.

4)  I want to thank everyone for a great day on Saturday.  The parents did a great job of taking care of the students and cheering them on. The band did an excellent job of performing in the heat.  We were one of only 4 bands that received Superiors in every category at the WTSBOA Marching Festival - Band, Color Guard, Field Commander, and Percussion.  And we placed 5th overall out of a stacked 19 bands that evening!  But the best thing is that we improved in every performance this weekend starting on Friday and ending on Saturday night.  Let's continue the improvement this week as we refine the musical and visual aspects of the show to prepare for another tough contest this Saturday!

Announcements 9/22/19

1) I want to thank everyone for your hard work on Saturday! Because of you, this was our smoothest Hornet Invitational ever. I have heard nothing but compliments about the even't professionalism and hospitality. Everyone did a great job representing SGC and Medina!
2)  Friday is Homecoming and 8th grade night.  Report time will be 5:30.  We will put on uniforms and then go outside to warm up and go over the Star Spangled Banner with the 8th grade band.  Also, now that we are wearing uniforms,  later this week we will go over the policies of food and activities while wearing the uniform.

3)  Saturday is the WTSBOA Marching Festival and Peabody Competition, both located at Peabody High School.  This is going to be an early morning and a late night.  A full itinerary will be posted on Monday.

4)  Watch for more announcements this week about uniforms and all that goes into Competition Saturdays.  It is crunch time now as everything we have worked for since July starts coming to fruition!  Let the games begin!

Announcements 9/2/19

1)  Booster meeting this Thursday at 6:30.  This is the big one where we get everything in order for the Hornet Invitational.

2)  Speaking of Hornet Invitational, we are going to be asking for the same drinks donations as the Preview Night.  This seemed to go well and so we will be selling the same drinks at our contest.  On top of the donations, if you see Pepsi products in cans on sale at any point, feel free to pick up a few for the contest.  We used a lot of the drinks to feed the 400 people at the Preview Night, but we are looking at feeding over 2,000 people at our competition!

3)  Home game this Friday vs. Milan.  Report time will be 6 pm.  Same dress as the last couple of games.
