2)  An itinerary for the Dyer County contest will be up tomorrow.  Our performance time is 1:30 pm.

3)  Please bring in your $10 for your seat on the charter bus to State.  Remember that we will have more seats available for parents/siblings than a regular school bus.

Mid-week announcements

1)  We are watching the storms and rain this Saturday closely.  There are no changes to the schedule.  The chance for storms has dropped and we will see if that continues into Saturday.  If there are any changes to the schedule, I will let you know as soon as they are made.

2)  Seniors will need to be on the Football Field at 6 pm in uniform with their parent/guardians.

3)  This Friday, we will wear pink since we got rained out last time.  Band students will wear their pink hats.

4)  Also, this Friday night there will be a special 5th Quarter in the school Cafeteria just for the band!  Mt. Zion church will be graciously bringing food to feed the band to reward them for all their hard work this year.  This will happen immediately after the game and after we get out of uniforms.  Everyone in the band is invited.

5)  Remember to bring your $6 if you want to take advantage of the pizza and chili on Saturday.

Announcements 10/18/15

1)  Thank you for an outstanding day at the Hornet Invitational!  Everyone worked hard to make this an event successful beyond what we even hoped for.  We got many compliments on the professionalism of the runners and the quality of service and food of concessions among many others.  This would absolutely not have been possible you. To every parent and student who worked, a humongous "Thank you!" from the bottom of my heart.

2)  We have a lot of work to do this week before the huge competition at the Bandmasters Championship this weekend.  Be prepared to go outside every day.  Dress for the weather.

3)  Report time Friday night is 6 pm.  Seniors: I will pass on any information that I get this week about Senior night.

4)  Report time for Saturday is 11:30 am on the practice field.  It is going to be a late night - dress for the weather!

5)  Since we know that the Bandmasters concession are going to be more expensive than most contests, we will be giving an option for the students.  If you bring $6 this week, we have Band parents that will feed you lunch before you leave (probably chili), and we will get Pizza to eat immediately after our performance that evening.

More Announcements

1)  The performance this Friday is not optional - it is a performance.  We will be playing pep songs and cheering on the Football Team.  The only thing different is that we will not be performing at halftime.  We will still be wearing uniforms, with the exception of the Guard.  Guard need to wear khakis and Band shirt (Hoodie, Sweatshirt, or Long Sleeve is fine) and be ready to cheer, cheer, cheer.

2) On Saturday, students need to report at 10 am in the band room for a quick meeting.  Parents need to report at 10:30 in the Band Room for a quick meeting.  Please do not park in the SGC Parking lot - we need all of it for buses and spectators.  Please park either at the Medina Park or at Mt. Zion Church.  We will have a trailer going back and forth that morning to transport people to the Band Room.

3)  We need coolers.  Just like the tents and tables we still need - if you can bring one, make sure your name is on it!

4)  Plan to wear your Band shirts so that spectators and bands will know who to ask when they have questions.  Wear warm clothes since it is supposed to be chilly.

Announcements 10/4/15

1)  Great job at Gibson County.  It was two of our best runs yet!  We still have a lot of work to do though, so don't let up.

2)  Gibson County had 20 bands in their competition, and now we will have 20 bands in ours (we just added Southside).  The reason I mention it is that you may have noticed how many parents and students it took to run that competition.  We will need everyone working your assigned spots - especially since we are doing the exhibition at the end.  The students will be learning what their jobs are and how to do them over the next couple of weeks so that the parents will be able to ask students any questions they may have about the jobs they are assigned.

3) Report time for this Friday's home game will be 6 pm.
