Announcements 8/26/18

1) Report time for this Friday's home game will be 6:15.  Same attire as last week.

2)  The memorization test for Movement 4 will be this Wednesday.  That may change if rain remains in the forecast for Thursday.  If that happens, be prepared to go outside Wednesday and take the test Thursday.

3)  Reminder that the Friends and Family shirt order will be available through Wednesday.  

4)  The prop build team will meet Tuesday at 6 pm to weld the roof together.

5)  Looking ahead to next week - I am going to make next Tuesday's (September 4) rehearsal a night rehearsal.  There will be no rehearsal from 3:30 to 5:30.  Instead, it will be from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  This will be the rehearsal for parents to learn how we are going to carry the props on to the field.  If you want to help with the pit crew at any point this year, please make it to this rehearsal so that we can organize the logistics of getting the stuff on and off the field.

Announcements 8/19/18

1)  Great job at the game this past Friday night.  This Friday is a home game.  Report time is 6:15.  Same attire as last week.  We play the National Anthem at 6:55.

2)  Build team - we will work Tuesday night bending and welding the roof pipe starting at 6 pm.  

3)  The Movement 4 memorization test will be moved to next week.

Away Football Game vs. Lexington

5:00 pm – Report to Band Room.  Attire is Band T-shirt and Khaki bottom.  No hats.  Use Restroom and load up on to your assigned bus.  Chaperones will call roll.

5:30 pm – Depart SGCHS.

6:15 pm – Arrive at Lexington’s Stadium.  Leaders will unload the cases.  Get your instrument case and line up.  We will march in with cases and unpack when we get to the stands.  Front Ensemble instruments and trailers will get loaded during this time and enter the stadium when ready.  A route into the stadium will be found when we arrive.

7:00 pm - Game Begins.  Pay attention to the game, cheer for the team, act in a professional manner.  Be ready to play pep songs at any time.  NO CELL PHONES!  During the 3^rd quarter, you will be able to get concessions.  We will start warming up in a dedicated area when there is 6 minutes left on the game clock in the second quarter. 

9:45 pm - Approximate end of game.  Line up and march back to buses.  Take your instruments to the truck to be loaded and then load the buses.

10:30 pm - After all equipment is loaded and students are on their assigned bus, we will depart.

11:15 pm – Arrive at SGCHS.  After all instruments are put up properly, you will be dismissed as a group. 

Announcements 8/12/18

1)  Smart Cards and money are due in this Tuesday.

2)  Movement 3 memorization test this Wednesday.  We will continue to work with the percussion and guard as we did last week.

3)  Away game at Lexington this Friday.  Wear the same attire as this past Friday.  Report time is 5 pm in the Band Room. We will leave the school at 5:30.  A full itinerary will be posted on Monday.

Announcements 8/5/18

1) Wear your band T-shirts and khaki bottoms this Tuesday after school so that we can get our pictures made for the football program.

2)  Report time Friday for the Jamboree is 5:45.  Same attire as Tuesday.  We will play pep songs in the stadium starting at 6:15.  Then play the National Anthem at 6:55.  Then play the 1st movement on the field at approximately 7:45 pm.  The Jamboree will be over by 9 pm.

3)  I will have a "Family and Friends" order for started later this week.  I will have more details then, such as prices.  I plan on having T-shirts, Hoodies, Sweatshirts, and long sleeve T-shirts available again this year.

4)  We will be working on the prop again this Tuesday starting at 6 pm.  

5)  Smart Cards will need to be turned in by August 14.  Remember to try to sell at least 10 or simply turn in a $50 check to help us with our goal for this fundraiser.  This will set us up for the rest of the marching season if we can do this!
