Booster Mtg, part 1


This is going to be a big booster meeting this Thursday, so I will be breaking this up into chunks over the next couple of days:

This first thing we will be doing is introducing our officers for this next school year.  Alan and Roy will be sharing the President duties.  Donna will be Vice President, Delynn will be Secretary, and Melissa will be Treasurer.

We will be starting our final fundraiser of the year on Monday, April 1st.  It will be the Spring BBQ.  Portions of the profits from each student will go into their individual account toward next year's fall trip.  We need to have the orders in by April 17, with the pick up date on April 27 from 12-2 pm.  A hearty thanks again to Jeff for heading this up for us!

Concert Festival Lunch

I will be paying Sparky's with one check on Friday to simplify the process. Therefore, I am asking that all students going to concert festival pay their $7 to me by Thursday so that I can have a check ready by Friday. Thanks.
And by the way, the kids are doing great on their two songs. These are two incredibly difficult songs, and they have put a lot of work into them.

Concert Festival Itinerary


Friday, March 22, 2013
10:30 am You will be called out of class and report to the band room. Load large instruments on bus. Make sure you are dressed in Concert attire, have your instrument AND your music folder! Concert attire consists of button up shirt, khakis, and dress shoes. Ladies if you wear a dress, make sure that it is conservative dress, with no low-cut tops or short skirts. NO TENNIS SHOES!
10:45 am Load bus, depart SGCHS.
11:15 am Arrive at Sparky’s Pizza, where you will pay for and eat your lunch. $7 for buffet.
12:15 pm Load bus and depart for Liberty HS
12:25 pm Arrive at Liberty HS. Get instruments off the bus, leave ALL cases on bus. Stretch and do some breathing exercises while we wait to go into the warm-up room.
12:50 pm Go to warm-up room.
12:55 pm Warm-up. Blue Book, Tipps, Songs, Final Breathing exercises. Percussion, you will be ready to go onto the stage first to start setting up when we get permission.
1:15 pm Move to stage. Stay in your rows and move to the stage in an organized manner.
1:20 pm Perform for judges. Emblem of Freedom and then Abram’s Pursuit. Parents are welcome to sit in the audience and watch.
1:40 pm Move to Sight-reading room.
2:05 pm Load all instruments on bus and head back to school.
2:35 pm Arrive SGCHS, unload bus. Put all instruments in their proper place.

Pageant workers

For those who are able, we will start getting set up for the Beauty pageant at noon tomorrow. Registration starts at 3, and the pageant starts at 4, so we need to have everything ready to go before then.  I am asking that all workers wear their band T-shirts. We will be done with the pageant and cleaned up by 9 pm.  If you can't be there at the very beginning or for the entire thing, please come and help when you can.  I am sure the parents and students who are working will appreciate some breaks or even working shifts.

Booster Meeting
