The 2010 SGCHS Hornet Band have begun their inaugural Competitive Marching Season! As they present their show, entitiled "Let's Have Some Fun!", they will learn the fundamentals of marching, how to perfect music with articulation, sound, and breathing, and what it means to put hard work into something you can be pround of. They will then use these musicality fundamentals as they present concert music in the winter and spring. As they continue to be more involved in the community through parades and other events, they will mature their sound and friendships as we continue to Establish a Tradition of Excellence!

Information 12/1/11

1) The parade is this Saturday, December 3. The students will need to be at the band room at 2:00, and the parade will start at 4:00. We will be toward the end of the parade. They will need to bring a Santa hat to wear and black socks to wear with their uniforms.

2) We are collecting canned goods underneath the Band Christmas tree. We will donating these cans to a good cause, and also be participating in the BETA club canned good creation contest, where we will be building an object out of the canned goods. We will be doing that on December 13, so if you want to donate some items, please have them in by Dec. 12.

3) The Breakfast with Santa pancake breakfast is next Saturday, Dec. 10 from 8:30 to 10:30 am. The students have tickets to sell, and we will need a lot of help to get the pancakes cooked and served. I will send out a list of worker needs tomorrow.
