Changes and reminders

1) Our performance time at Concert Festival has changed to 3 pm (it was 3:20).  Everything else on the itinerary will stay the same.

2)  Get the $8 for Sparky's pizza in by the time we leave on Friday.

3)  Remember that we have Atlanta trip practice tomorrow (Thursday) from 3:30 to 5 pm.

4)  I found out we will be marching at Six Flags as soon as we get there on Sunday. We will wear uniforms on the bus ride to Six Flags and then change at the buses after our performance.

5)  If you haven't paid your $10 for the Atlanta T-shirt, please get that in so that you can receive the shirt.

Afterschool rehearsal rescheduled

Due to inclement weather, today's Monday afterschool rehearsal will be rescheduled to Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00.

Announcements 3/18/18

1)  After school rehearsal on Monday from 3:30 to 5:00 for those going on the Atlanta trip.  Make sure to get the word to those who are not in class!

2)  Jazz Band on Tuesday.

3)  Color Guard rehearsal on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00.

4)  Drumline Rehearsal on Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30.

5)  On Friday, we are going to eat lunch at Sparky's on the way to Concert Festival.  At first they said they were full, but they called me back and said they were able to make room.  Please bring $8 for the buffet and drink by Thursday.  Parents, if you want to come watch us perform, it is at 3:20 on Friday at Liberty High School.  Admission is free.  If you want to take your child home after we finish, just bring me a note.

6)  Report time for Saturday is 5 am for the Atlanta trip.  We will need to load the buses as soon as they get there.  We will need to load luggage, instruments, the banner, and uniforms.   T-shirts will be in this week if you ordered one.  Bring in the $10 if you haven't yet.

Friday, March 23, 2018

11:30 am             At the end of FOCUS time, report to the Band Room. Load your instruments on the Band Trailer.  Small instruments will be taken on the bus with us.  Make sure you are dressed in Concert attire, AND have your music folder!  Concert attire consists of button up shirt, khakis, and dress shoes.  Ladies if you wear a dress, make sure that it is conservative dress, with no low-cut tops or short skirts.  NO TENNIS SHOES!

Noon                     Depart SGCHS.

12:45 pm             Arrive in Jackson at the Food Giant Parking lot in Jackson.  You will have your choice of restaurants to go eat.

1:45 pm                Depart parking lot.

2:00 pm               Arrive at Liberty HS.  Get your instruments off the trailer, put the cases back in the trailer.

2:45 pm               Line up to go to the warm-up room.

2:55 pm               Warm-up. Percussion, prepare to go to the stage first to set up when we get permission.

3:15 pm               Move to stage.  Stay in your rows and move to the stage in an organized manner.

3:20 pm               Perform for judges.  National Emblem March first and then Rhapsodic Celebration.  Parents are welcome to sit in the audience and watch.  There is no admission fee.

3:40 pm               Move to Sight-reading room.  Parents cannot watch this part.  There is not enough room in the sight-reading room.

4:00 pm               Load up the trailer.  You can have your parents meet at the school and take you home from here or wait for the buses to get back to pick us up at approximately 4:15. 

Announcements 3/11/18

1)  Jazz band will need to rehearse on Monday this week due to the Drumline tryouts on Tuesday.

2)  Drumline tryouts will be Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30.

3)  Color Guard Clinic and auditions are this week.  Monday and Tuesday will go 3:30 to 5:30.  Wednesday and Thursday will go through 5:

Announcements 3/4/18

1)  Chaperones and students going on the Atlanta trip: We will have Trip T-shirts for anyone who wants them.  They are $10 and will be Columbia blue with SGCHS 2018: Atlanta on the front chest and the back.  Chaperones, email me your size if you want one, and students will signup on a sheet in the Band Room.  Please get this to me by Wednesday so that we can get the order in this week.

2)  During Focus time this week, students going on the Trip will be signing up for their spot on the bus and trying their uniform back on as we prepare for the performance at Six Flags.

3)  Jazz Band will Rehearse Tuesday in the Band Room from 3:30 to 4:30.

4) Color Guard will start rehearsing on Tuesday in the Cafeteria from 3:30 to 5:00 for the Spring Parades.  These rehearsals will be every Tuesday and Thursday.

5)  Drumline will have rehearsal on Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Chorus Room.  These rehearsals will be every Tuesday.
