Upcoming events

1) For the students who signed up for Solo and Ensemble, it's this Saturday March 2 at Northside High School. Our allotted time is 8:30 - 9 am. Try to get there around 8 or 8:15 to warm-up. When you get there, I will have the list of rooms where each person is supposed to go. Park by the south cafeteria (look for some other school buses parked around there.)
2) Next Tuesday, March 5 from 6:30 to 8 pm is the next rehearsal designed to start incorporating the 8th graders. The last two rehearsals, I only wanted the leadership team there. At this rehearsal, I am inviting the whole band to come and welcome the 8th graders. During this time we will also be looking at some new pep music for next year.
3) Next Thursday, March 7 at 6:30 pm is the next Booster meeting. We need more parents at this one so that we can finalize working assignments for the Beauty pageant.
4) Tuesday March 12 is the afterschool rehearsal for Concert Festival from 3:30 to 5:30.
5) March 16 is the Beauty pageant. We need a photographer. The one we had lined up is not able to do it now. If anyone know anyone who could do it, please let me know.

Band Camp dates

Band Camp 2013:
July 15, 16 (Mon, Tues) - Percussion and Guard only 8:00 - 11:30
July 17, 18, 19 (Wed, Thur, Fri) - Band, Percussion, and Guard 8:00 - 12:00; Percussion and Guard come back from 1:00 - 3:00
July 22 - 26 (Mon - Fri) Everyone 7:00 - 11:30, 1:00 - 4:00
For the Full Week, I am pushing the starting time to 7 am so that we have more time outside before the heat really gets bad. I am balancing that with getting out an hour earlier in the afternoon.

Ensemble Concert

Band students' report time for Tuesday's concert is 6:00 pm.  We will need to set up the chairs and instruments on the stage.  They need to wear Concert Attire (no jeans, T-shirts, or hats).  The concert will start at 7 pm and last about an hour.  Free admission, open to everyone who wants to hear some great music!

Booster Meeting

Booster meeting will be this Thursday, February 7 at 6:30 in the Band Room.

Announcements 1/28/13

Spring Semester is off and running! We are already getting really close to the February 12 Ensemble Concert. Please encourage the students to practice, as we are playing some incredibly difficult music so far.
1) All-West Honor Band participants will need to find their own way to Memphis this Thursday. Meet in the large lobby of the Convention center between 11:30 and 12 to register. Mrs. Ison will meet you after you register to take you to the Hotel. It is right across the street from the Convention Center.

2) Butter Braid pastry sales start next week.

3) The next Booster meeting will be Thursday February 7 at 6:30 pm in the Band Room.

Announcements 1/7/13

Welcome back, everyone! Hope you enjoyed having your kids home for Christmas and New Year's Break. Now it's time to jump back in with both feet! After such a great semester, it's hard to imagine how it could get much better; but I am very excited about the selections we are playing for our concerts this semester!
1) Booster meeting will be tomorrow, Tuesday, January 8. We will be discussing a few things, including the upcoming Miss Harmony Beauty pageant.
2) All-West Tryouts are this Saturday at Arlington High School. Those students who are trying out have been given their audition times.
3) UTM Honor Band will be Jan. 24-26. Schedule and info for those that were selected will be given out today (Monday, January 7)
4) Jazz Band will start back next Monday, January 14. It will still be on Mondays from 3:30-4:30. 5)  Over on the right side of this website, you will see a link to the schedule for the spring semester.
