Announcements 1/10/16

1)  Jazz Band on Monday from 3:30 to 4:40.

2)  Booster Meeting on Tuesday.  Also, it was brought to my attention that the Middle School Band Booster meeting is that night at 7 pm.  Let's push our meeting back to 6 pm, and we will make it short.  There are a few things we need to get pinned down before February.

3)  We will continue finalizing our ensembles and music this week.  I hope to have every ensemble ready to go by Thursday so that we can start practicing in our groups.

4)  All-West auditioners:  The auditions are this Saturday at Northside High School in Jackson.  Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your audition.  Go to the sign in table only when you are ready to audition.  You can't sign in and then go warm up.  Good luck!

5)  UTM Honor Band participants:  Make sure you get your registration fees in this week.

6)  Everyone check your calendars for me.  I am looking at the possibility of moving the Spring Concert from April 21 to a new date of April 19.  Have the students let me know this week if this is doable.

2)  Students need to bring their instruments Tuesday.  Be prepared to play as we begin chair placements and concert preparations.

3)  Color Guard members who are going to be going on the Disney trip need to keep an eye for announcements the next few weeks about uniform fittings, rehearsals, and routines.

Announcements 12/6/15

1)  Breakfast with Santa is this Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30.  Tickets are available in the Band Room if you know of someone who wants to buy some.  If you are working, please be there at 7 am to start cooking Pancakes and Sausages, and to finish setting up.  We currently need about 3 or 4 more griddles to help with the cooking. I will not need all students working at this.  In fact, I will only be asking for 15 volunteers on a sign up sheet this week.

2)  For those students not working at Breakfast with Santa, we are asking for the following donations to help our profits on this event:  Guard - candy canes, full size, it doesn't matter about color or flavor.  Percussion - Orange Juice, quart size.  Brass - 2% white milk, quart size.  Woodwinds - Chocolate milk, quart size.  Bring those any time this week and we will store the drinks in the cafeteria refrigerator.

3) We will have afterschool rehearsal this Thursday from 3:30 to 5 pm for the concert.

4)  After the rehearsal, if you have signed up to perform at the District dinner, we will be performing right after rehearsal and will be done by 6 pm.  Wear all black for the performance.

5)  We will be responsible for concessions at the Monday, December 21 Basketball game.  I need two more parent volunteers and two more student volunteers.
